I help Australian homeowners take ownership of the decisions that shape their home. As an architect, I locate the commitment points that set the course of their project and guide them through each in turn.

Our Mission

Educate. Empower. Elevate.

Over the long term, Home Mastery sets out to change how Australians approach building and renovating.

Homeowners are often expected to make some of the biggest and most expensive decisions of their lives without a clear understanding of the building process.

Our mission is to make professional knowledge clear, practical and available at the right time.

We believe better-informed homeowners can make more confident decisions, work more effectively with professionals and remain meaningfully involved in shaping their homes.

By helping homeowners understand what matters, when it matters and how each decision connects to the next, we aim to make the building journey feel less overwhelming and more manageable.

Home Mastery exists so that homeowners can protect their interests, make decisions that reflect their own priorities and create homes that support the way they want to live, with the whole project understood before any part of it is committed.

  • Make Knowledge Accessible

Translate complex industry knowledge into clear explanations, sequences and examples for homeowners.

  • Support Better Decisions

Help homeowners understand options, recognise assumptions and prepare more useful questions before committing.

  • Protect Through Preparation

Support awareness, clarification and better-timed decisions without promising a risk-free or problem-free project.

  • Elevate the Building Experience

My Story

How Home Mastery Began

  1. 01A pattern in practice
  2. 02Knowledge in fragments
  3. 03A resource for clients
  4. 04Home Mastery

Home Mastery began with a pattern I kept seeing in my architectural practice.

Capable, committed homeowners were being asked to make important decisions about their needs, budget, design, approvals, consultants, quotations, contracts and construction, often without one clear view of how those decisions connected or what they could affect later.

The problem was not a lack of care or effort. Useful knowledge was spread across meetings, drawings, consultant reports, quotations and long email threads. Even good advice could be difficult to absorb in one conversation, find again later or apply when the next decision approached.

The issue was not simply that there was too much information. It was that the information arrived in fragments, without a clear pathway through the wider journey.

I wanted to create something my clients could return to whenever a question arose or an important conversation was approaching. I began collecting, writing and organising practical explanations across the different stages of building and renovating.

That private resource was the first version of what would later grow into Home Mastery.

It was the starting point for everything that followed: a place where my architectural clients could revisit important information, explore subjects more deeply and prepare for the decisions ahead.

The resource was never intended to replace the project-specific advice I provided as their architect. It was created to support that advice and help clients participate more meaningfully in their projects.

As the resource developed, I realised the need extended far beyond my own clients. Homeowners working with their own architect, designer, builder or consultant team could benefit from the same clarity and preparation.

That idea grew into Home Mastery: the Home Mastery Foundations Program, the Home Mastery Knowledge Library and the Home Mastery Toolkits, three connected resources that help Australian homeowners understand what matters and prepare before important commitments are made.

Home Mastery does not ask homeowners to become architects, builders, certifiers or technical specialists. It helps them participate with greater clarity, judgement and confidence.

Knowledge is your first layer of protection.

How I See a Project

The Fifth Elevation

As an architect, I know a house is drawn in four elevations, one for each side, and on a home project each professional you engage works mostly on one side of it. That is their role, and it is how a project is meant to run. The fifth elevation is the view from above, where every side can be seen at once, and from there the decisions that belong to you can be seen in the order they arrive. Home Mastery is built to give you that view, and every decision it shows you is worked through with The LOG System. It locates each decision before it arrives, shows you the part that is yours, whether or not you engage a professional, and guides you through it while its options are still open.
